Clearances Needed for Delivery or Pickup
To safely drop off or retrieve a 20′ storage container, we require the following space:
- 70 feet of straight-line clearance
- 10 feet of width
- 15 feet of overhead clearance
This ensures our tilt-deck truck can safely back in, lower the container, and pull out without issue.
Things to double-check before delivery:
- The delivery area is clear of vehicles, snow or ice buildup, overhanging branches, or construction debris
- Driveway is at least 26 feet long and not overly steep (a slope of no more than 2 feet over 20 feet)
- No wires, awnings, or tree limbs within 15 feet of height
Not Sure If You Have Enough Space?
Here’s a quick way to check using Google Maps:
- Go to Google Maps and enter your delivery address
- Switch to Satellite view in the bottom-left corner
- Right-click where you’d like your container placed and select “Measure distance”
- Click again where our truck would begin entry to measure available straight-line space
– You’ll need at least 70′ for a 20′ container

Avoiding Failed Delivery Fees
Please note: If our truck arrives and can’t complete the delivery or pickup due to obstructions or insufficient space, a missed service fee may apply. The driver will return the container to our yard, and the delivery will need to be rescheduled at an additional cost.
